That would involve touching the pee seat with your hand!

I put toilet paper down if I HAVE to go while in public. Hovering does not empty the bladder properly and can cause UTI's.

I don't ever, ever touch toilet taps.

What germs/diseases can one catch from sitting on a public toilet seat? Or is it more a psychological thing (ie the thought of the grossness?)

I hate public toilets but I know I'm not going to catch anything if I wash my hands properly.

Psychological. I don't think your butt cheek can actually contract anything from the germs on a toilet seat.

Depends on the condition of the toilet block

If it looks clean, I'll sit. And will you look at that, I'm still alive!

If it has splashes on it, of course I will hover, but I'm not much of a germophobe so I'm not fussed if it appears clean.

I sit and I too am still alive, thanks to chronic stomach issues I'm just glad if my butt hits the toilet in time!! (Sorry but that's the truth). I wash and dry my hands think look at the door handle to exit and think oh for heavens sake!

If it looks reasonably clean I sit. Became too hard to hover when I was pregnant with DS

I get toilet paper to close the toilet door then hover, there is no way in hell I would sit on any toilet seat I don't even do it at work or my friends places I always hover, if I have to sit then I completely cover every inch of that seat with toilet paper before I do then I use toilet paper to open the door and once I have washed my hands I get a paper towel or tissue to turn off the tap. Public toilets gross me out !!!
