It's not accurate if you take it late at night I don't think. I do know the later you take it, the higher the temp.
Temp will fluctuate throughout the day depending on what you're doing, the weather etc. Bbt is only accurate after a period of sleep (3hrs+).
Thank you - I know it's not accurate I was just wondering why my temp is 36.4 at night and then 36.85 next morning lol curiosity I guess (happens often)
Well here is the thing. I gave up temping to reduce stress.
Now on CD16/17 I had ewcm and thought yay ovulation time as usual for CD18. CD19/20 the white thick stuff started like always after ovulation and sore boobs and mild twinges (as usual after ovulation for me) started also and I thought hmm maybe I ovulated early at CD17 as normally the signs don't show until 2 days after. I want on with my life with a "let's see what happens" approach.
Then on CD24 I went to bathroom and saw spotting which then has gotten less and then a bit more in the arvo and then nothing again like the mildest period between brown to pink to red and then again the CD25 again very little.
I never spotted like this and never at this time. My AF isn't due until CD31 the very earliest.
I decided to see what my temps were remembering my non ovulation house moving cycle in February during which my temps hovered between 36.0 and 36.35 on days I got up late throughout the cycle with semi to fertile cm all through and no cramps or sore boobs. That cycle I started spotting around CD28 and didn't stop until ovulation the next cycle which was monitored. I thought maybe I was wrong despite the signs and I didn't ovulate despite the absence of stress.
In normal cycles up to 36.15 is normal for me before ovulation and then post ovulation is at least 36.5 but no more than 36.7.
Well on CD25 I measured 36.85 which is high for post ovulation even. I am not sick or anything.
Last night after having been in court all day I took a panadol or two for my headache. Had some more spotting that disappeared. Went to bed like usual and woke up an hour earlier as usual but slept very well (although I believe with open mouth as I am allergic and have a stuffy nose which makes me wake up at 3-4am to use nose spray which is literally next to me so I don't hand to move and then I continue on sleeping until 6.30 - but not last night for whatever reason I didn't wake). Well I got up at 5.30 and my temp is only 36.35 which I am now concerned about.
Maybe I didn't ovulate again and this is break through bleeding.
GP refuses to run a progesterone test although I requested as I believe this would help FS (on holidays seeing him in august) to determine whether I should try clomid first or whether bleeding is endo related or fibroids?
I would love your input.
Panadol can affect your temp and make it lower.
Kitty - could you post your chart?
Drinking water, talking or even breathing all lower my temp. So could be why your temp was lower in the evening.
As for todays temp it could be inaccurate as Mamasupial said or could be af is on the way. You can't know for certain re o without consistent temp taking or a bt.
Hmm looks like to me I didn't ovulate - doesn't matter... On to fertility treatment as off today anyway starting with tracking and then clomid :-) this is breakthrough bleeding I think but getting progesterone done in case I am 6 days before AF due date atm but have a feeling there will be no AF.
