Default Going out for dinner? Where can I eat what can I eat?

What types of foods can I have. So I'm guessing I can't order a salad, or even dips from a Turkish restaurant, or fruit, or rare steaks etc... If I go to say Mexican or a pub/ tavern, what to order? I'm thinking the only thing I can have is like cooked vedge with well done meat? yeah?

    Thankyou ladies xx

You can have pretty much anything that isn't raw or that had been sitting in a bain marie. No uncooked seafood or salad that hasn't been washed properly.
A chicken prams and chips sounds pretty awesome to me!

Aren't salads and fruits ok? I thought it was just pre-prepared salads (eg from the deli, not fresh prepared ones at restaurants?). I went out for tea the other night and ate salad on my burger......I have also eaten some dairy free dips... I thought this was ok as well.

I would expect a restaurant to serve fresh food, I really wouldn't think there would be too many issues with eating at them.

I rarely went out EVER with my 2 other pregnancies due to fear! This time around I'm trying to be a little more relaxed about it all but cautious.

You can eat anything really apart from what another poster mentioned.

If its a clean restaurant that has a good reputation you are prob perfectly fine

Yeah I was pretty relaxed when eating out, just sensible.

If I ordered steak I got well done but didn't normally get it as I prefer medium-well.

No aoli. I don't eat seafood. None of the cheeses your not recommended.

I would eat dips at a restaurant. And I'd eat salad.

If it's a decent restaurant I wouldn't worry to much really.

Yeah, as a general rule, salad you don't prepare yourself is a no no. It's because the salad leaves and that are stored in fridges for days and have usually been touched and if you didn't wash it your self, you just can't trust it. A pregnan women should consume lettuce from a supermarket very shortly after buying.

I worked at lonestar steakhouse and saloon years ago and the salad was in a massive tub that sat on top of a fridge so the bottom was dipped in. The top part of the salad was room temp and was uncovered so it could just be scooped into a bowl (perfect bacteria growth conditions) It was all handed and prepared and chopped by hand and is not pregnancy safe standards. Young staff these days can be lazy and careless... Lol there is my life story on why not to eat salad while out haha.
