Omg I have been MIA for soooo long, it's just taken me an hour to find this thread. I was part of the original TTC in 2014 thread lol.. (if anyone remembers me!)
I got an iPad and still dont' know how to find this forum on it, and then I lost my password haha.

I hope everyone is well. I will try and catch up. I've had two good friends have babies in the last week and two more due very soon. Clucky much?

We officially start TTC next month

I don't know, I think it's my new job that's made me reconsider a little bit...like I'm not quite done being selfish (can't think of a better word)...and I want to be whole hearted about my TTC journey. Which I was until literally one month ago. Things might change, I've spoken to DH and he's happy to wait and do the Europe thing (he's more keen than I am actually). And after that's done...I think we really will feel like it's ready, set, go....don't hate me please for saying all that! I just would rather wait than be hesitant IYKWIM
Can totally understand! And honestly..once they are out you cant really put them back lol, sure you can leave them with someone..but you will be leaving a huge chunk of your heart too...enjoy your trip!

Thanks for the comforting words girls
Shrillian I'm hearing you hun!!! I do have my age on my side, I guess...and that could be a reason my friends are saying the things they are because honestly most of them are ages away from having kids. I think they want to own homes and be married first, which none of them are at just yet.

In terms of the Europe thing, there's no way I'd want to be preg for Europe...no champagne in the Champagne region, soft cheese etc
I think it would be harder, in fact a lot harder to leave little tackers at home with grandparents. Only from viewing my sister and relis...its heartbreaking as HOF said, to leave them behind. So, as a result they don't do it and further more-dont' go on any holidays because it's too expensive and too hard! And Europe for me would be a six week affair, so I can't imagine leaving my darlings behind. But, if they could come-great stuff. It def would be a different kind of holiday with a baby/child along for the ride. But you work around these things, don't you!

I'm sure if I got utd, I wouldn't change it for the world...but doing some planning (as I love to do), means, for right now I'm holding out! Just because I want to be 110% on board. There's a few things left to do in my books, which until recently...I thought weren't there anymore-but they are! A small party animal has grown inside of me, somewhat overnight

I know what you mean. I've always wanted to be a Mum, so couldn't imagine leaving my child behind to go and "enjoy myself". Seeing friends do it though, made me understand it "could" be possible.

That said, I've convinced DH that if it happens before our holiday, we (obviously) postpone and go when they're 1.5 yo and instead take my parents along with us as official "babysitters" so we can still enjoy ourselves as necessary!

I'm not a party girl either, my life goal was always have children. We didn't plan to do the marriage and house thing first but it happened to just turn out that way. I do want to travel but I'm more than happy to wait until the kids are old enough to appreciate it and take them along.
I have lots of friends n family telling us to slow down enjoy life we are still young. What they don't understand is that getting married, buying house, making a family, this is all far more interesting to me than going to a club and wasting my hard earned money.
So don't let anyone BUT YOURSELF tell you to slow down on the family! xx

I wouldn't let anyone try and convince me to have/not have kids right now-don't worry. I am strong minded about the decisions I make. My friends have just confirmed and supported a few things that have started niggling away. Even though my bff is currently 14 weeks utd, and wants me to join her, it hasn't changed my mind about the time I want to get utd.

I was having this very convo with a friend last night who has two kids and how she was never a partier etc. So life was peachy when she decided to have kids at a young age. I still enjoy the night life and going out with friends too much to give it up for now. Everyone's different. I think I've just observed a lot of how my sister's life has changed since having her two, and I'm not ready for mine to be like that just yet. I think it's so wonderful for those of you who don't have that urge because clearly that shows you are so ready for this journey!!! For now I don't see going out to a club as 'wasting my money'. I am enjoying myself when I go out dancing with friends etc. So that's why I'm glad I am realising that that door has not quite shut yet...

I think I'll def take my kids on holidays with me too when they are older. I enjoyed that part of my childhood so much!

I will def be reading along. I CAN'T miss anyones BFPs....especially yours MrsT!!! I'll be going like this when it happens hehehe. And I'll update the main events of my life when we plan that trip and also of course when my bff has her bundle of joy. That'll be one of the best moments of this year, for sure
