So I went in today and spoke to the midwives and doctors, told them I didn't want to be induced and asked if I could wait a few days, they put me on the ctg monitor and also had an ultrasound. Bub is fine etc so they have given me until Monday!!

I'll go in for another ctg on Saturday.

Also they did a stretch and sweep (first one) and I had some gas for it which made it a lot more tolerable than I imagined.

I haven't had many signs of labour, I was quite uncomfortable after the stretch and sweep and felt a lot of pressure down there with some very sharp stabbing pains but that all subsided after lunch

I wonder if the stretch and sweep will work and how long it will take?

Walking a ton after the s&s will help too. They say usually within 24 hrs of a stretch and sweep it will start labour if it is going to. I had a s&s with ds3, at 8:30, walked almost non stop until 3, small contractions from about 10. Had him at 5:25 that arvo

I have sat on the fitball a bit and bounced a bit though, hope that helps

Try nipple stimulation! Seriously, I had my stretch and sweep and was advised to go home and DTD lol but I instead used some Lansinoh cream and my waters broke hours later :-)

Im convinced acupuncture worked for me. I lost plug after two sessions with ds2 and he was born 2days after the second session. I had it with dd and lost my plug after one session. I wanted another but was induced instead.

I've been hand expressing colostrum from about 28 weeks and I haven't had anything happen how long do you have to do it for?

I also expressed with my electric beast pump yesterday and nothing

I'm not sure exactly how long for, maybe google it? There was also a chapter about in a pregnancy book I was reading so you should be able to find some info online.

Its not how long you do it for, it's how you do it. Google expressing to induce. I think it's 5min each side a few times a day.
