Default Gallbladder issues with 11 year old

My 11 year old has been diagnosed with an abnormal gallbladder function. We've had a hida scan and Her EF is 11%.
Weve not yet seen an gastroenterologist in perth, just a paediatrician. The treatment he's suggesting is gallbladder removal.

Is there anyone who has been through this with their child? Who did you see etc? I'm so scared about this and don't know where to go or who to see for another opinion.

you're advice would be much appreciated.

    thank you

hi cocolatte, I have had gall bladder pain, and it was quite severe but only lasted 3 or 4 days. Perhaps there is a second option of medication before removal, but I don't know. I have not known anyone so young to have the gall bladder removed, but those adults that I have known, they certainly have no regrets. I expect your specialist will know what is the best thing to do. Good luck, Marie.
