Default 5 year old DD's attitude is driving me INSANE!!!

OMG! Over the last month my DD has developed the attitude of a teenage girl going through puberty!!! She has turned into a little *****!!!
She is rude, insolent, cheeky, ignores me, answers back. You name it she's doing it and it is really starting to get to me and I am finding I am saying things to her that I really regret. She is also relentlessly teasing her 4 year old brother.
I have used 123 Magic in the past but ( and this might sound like a cop out), with three little kids - I don't have time to be putting her in time out 100 times a day. I either want to be able to use it all the time or not at all. I'd blame on school but she's been on holidays the last 6 weeks so nothing there.
Can anyone give me any suggestions?? I am finding myself really disliking my own daughter at the moment. She is just unpleasant to be around. She's not this bad to her Dad but he is more inclined to smack on the bum then I am ( and she told me straight up that she's not mean to Daddy cause he smacks her and I don't...). And please no comments on the smacking - we are in general a know smack family but that's not to say they've never been smacked. Just to clarify...

Sounds like end-of-school-holiday-itis .... Seriously get these kids back to school stat!!!

Seriously though, it is sort of typical and some girls hit it sooner some later. Generally around 8 girls seem to turn into little bishes. They do get better again though.

One strategy I find has helped stop the attitude in my 6yo is to mimic her. Not in a mean way. Just calmly saying "when you just said that this is how you sounded, did that sound nice? Would you like it if I spoke to you like that?". I also talk about if she will make/keep friends if she talks to them like that.

I also ask if I can have my old DD back and if we have a good day/outing/meal lavish her with praise for acting so lovely and making mummy happy.

Can I just say, wait until she's 10! She's lucky I love her more than anything else cause sometimes I feel like telling her where there door is!

It also doesn't help she is now an inch taller than me, puberty coming in full force (14C bra size already!) and spoilt rotten off her single daddy who has a high paying job and still lives at home with mummy 😩

I also do agree with the end of the holidays and as a Victorian can not wait for Wednesday!

LOL. As a Territorian bring on Tuesday is all I can say. Anything that might help tone down this attitude.

Yes we are suffering end-of-holiday-itis too. In regards to the 123 magic have you tried changing the consequences? Also are you talking too much?
