Going to strangle my DF... We were supposed to visit a wedding venue today and he's bailed out. For at least 18mths I have made all sorts of suggestions re when/where to get Married but he finds fault with every option. I know he is committed, been together 13 years. But he is starting to drive me nuts. Then when I suggest I just change my name and we don't worry about a wedding he talks me out of that and says we'll get married. So over it. Wondering if I shoul just give up and carry on as is

I'm on board with this chat- what a great idea.
I got engaged last year in Italy, came home from trip and was ready to organise the wedding of my dreams as I'd wanted to get married for so long (been together 8 years) n found out we were pregnant. Now we have a beautiful 8 week old son and DS is wanting another baby asap :/ but I've told him not until I my wedding otherwise we will never get married!
Is that fair do u think?

Similar situation-- we've (me) decided to only invite ppl we see on a regular basis and know us as a couple. Now with baby, just can't spend that money on a seat for people we don't see but invited just because they are family....

    Good luck with the planning

Best idea re invitations. Write out everyone you know who you think you want to invite.

Then if you haven't seen nor heard from them in the last 6-12 months cull them.

Next think are they going to make the wedding more enjoyable/fun or would you think they may cringe at others going a little overboard.

The only family you have to invite are your parents and siblings if your close.

Hell I've just sent out invites and haven't bothered including one sibling and partner as they've decided they're no longer apart of the family my younger sibling invited them to their wedding out of how would you say thinking they had to. Well DF and I are paying for ours so screw it I'm not doing it.

    My wedding dress arrived today!!

It's going to need a few minor alterations & it's an inch or two too long but other than that it's perfect!

Not any decent ones! I couldn't get the zip done up on my own lol My MOH is coming over tonight so she can squeal & cry and then hide it at her house, I'll get her to help me with it and take a few photos.

Am I over reacting being a bit upset about all the woman in my partners family wearing black to my wedding?

If you feel that it's a bit morbid or rude, then it's not an overreaction.

Would I be upset? No, but I am fairly easy-going and wouldn't care what colour people wore so long as they put in an effort.

I guess the real question is, what can you do about it, if anything?

Here's my eBay dress! Not zipped up properly & minus petticoat.

(Please ignore the mess in the background, we're in the process of clearing out a lot of stuff.)
