    Default Whacky periods during bf?

Has anyone else experienced a very strange return of periods while bf? DS is 17 months and still feeding 2-4 times per day. I started bleeding at Christmas time, then two weeks off, another week of bleeding, one week off and now bleeding again! We are hoping to ttc again later in the year so I'm hoping this is not going to continue like this! I'm on the mini pill if that makes any difference. Has anyone else had their cycles come back all over the place like this?

Yes I have. DD is 14mths & I've had slightly irregular periods from around 7mths. She feeds 3-6x. Im not bothered. I'll need to wean her to have another anyway as fertility clinics wont do treatment while I'm breastfeeding. Im in no rush

Mine were never that close, always further apart than a normal period. It usually takes me a few months to get regular once they start though. I was never on the mini pill. Maybe have a talk to your doctor, you might need to adjust your medication

This happened to me on the mini pill. Bleeding got closer and closer together and i was bleeding way more of the month than i was not.

Different contraception was recommended, but i got pregnant before i had switched (while still taking the minipill and breastfeeding). Not sure if the excess bleeding is a sign that it is not covering you for contraception, but it didn't work for me.

Yep I was in the same boat- went to my Ob who tested everything and he suggested that I change from the mini pill- and once I did everything regulated! But I waited until DS had stopped BF before I changed over, as I didn't want to risk my supply dropping. Definitely talk with your doc or Ob if it is worrying you!

Mine were all over the shop and only became regular when I cut down on breastfeeding. I didn't become pregnant again until after that, but I'm an older mum so that probably caused a delay as well.
