I went and spoke to my GP who gave me a referral to fertility specialist and clinic. I didn't choose I just went with who he sent me to and made an appointment. I was really happy so stuck with him through IVF and pregnancy (even delivered bub). You could always research clinics around you and ask for recommendations, I was just happy to go with the flow. Good luck

Yep see your GP for a referral first. Some clinics take a while to get into, so go to your GP as soon as possible - the referral lasts for 12 months if you don't feel you are quite ready yet.

It depends on the clinic, but generally speaking you might be waiting a month for your initial appointment, then with different requirements for testing and getting prepared, you'll probably be waiting at least a couple more months before you actually get started on a stim cycle.

    Good Luck!

Hi MumT, like the other poster suggested, first step is the GP for a referral to FS. Make sure the referral is in both yours and DH name which maximises the Medicare rebates etc. You can start googling your area for fertility clinics and their reviews/costs etc.

Hi, the standard ones to my knowledge are blood tests for you and DP, you will also have pelvic ultrasound and an extra blood test for ovarian reserve (AMH). Hubby will also do a sperm analysis test. This is usually the basics unless the doctor suspects a need for other further testing eg hycosy to check if tubes are blocked. Best of luck
