Also, I've never heard of a link to autism, vitamin k isn't a vaccination.
Even if vitamin K was a vaccination it still wouldn't be linked to autism (sorry to nitpick lol).

I got both injections at birth for both my girls, I don't think either even noticed (heel prick test was worse for Bub).

I feel the same way, I was just avoiding commenting on the implication because I didn't want to get involved in a debate. . I'll edit my post!

I battled with the same questions during pregancy and read similar information. Ie. The link between the injection and childhood cancer, and the link between the oral dose and stomach/ digestion problems. I figured there was more chance of contracting a digestive problem from the oral dose so I decided to have the injection. At one point I toyed with the idea of having neither because both possibilities scared me.
I am so glad I made the decision to give bub the injection as it SAVED HIS LIFE!!! My ds received a birth injury from the vacuum at birth. The vacuum caused a 'subgaleal hematoma' which is bleeding in the layers between the brain and the skull. Without the injection of vitamin K the blood would probably not have clotted and he would have continued to haemorrhage until........I just can't bring myself to say it. I can say there would have been a tragic outcome.

    Please think carefully.

Just to note: the alleged link between autism and vaccinations is with the MMR immunization specifically. You've got plenty of time to research that one.

Wow, so glad that your baby got that injection!! To be clear, I left the option open for the Vit K injection in case the birth was traumatic. Turned out to be a breezy birth so she didn't get it. (I didn't question anything with DS so he got it but his birth was a little more traumatic too so that may have been a good thing.)

I decided not to give Vit K to baby, unless she had a traumatic birth (e.g. assisted delivery or c section).

I ended up giving it to her due to her birth circumstances.

#2 did not get it because his birth did not warrant it.
