Default What does your bloody show/plug look like

I am 40+2 weeks pregnant with number 2. I have been in hospital the last 2 days with high BP but yesterday it went down and my obs were great so I was discharged (on my request because I refused induction).
Anyway, while in there they did 2 stretch & sweeps, the last one only just last night before I left. Since then, I had a bit of bloody mucus last night. This morning, there was heaps of chunky/stringy bloody mucus. I wiped about 5 times and it was still coming out.
Could this be my plug/show? Do you think that is a good sign that thing are about to happen?
I know you can loose your plug weeks before birth, but I'm over due now anyway. Plus, I lost my plug well into labour with DS who was born at 37 weeks after my waters broke on their own. I didn't actually see it so that's why I am unsure what it looks like, I just remember the mid wives saying there it was.
Anyway, do you think it's a sign things are starting to happen? I'm 2cm already and my cervix is open, the doc said she could break my waters if I wanted. But, I want things to happen on their own so said no. I'm about to get bouncy on the gym ball lol.

Sounds like it! My show was lots of mucous with a bit of pinky red blood. Id been having some irregular contractions at 38w, had my show, and then had my baby in my arms four hours later. Good luck!

Sounds like things are moving along!
Both of mine were like clear jelly. Gross!
With DS the plug came away a couple of days before labour began. I was already having contractions with DD when it came away.

It does sound like your show, I didn't get one my first pregnancy but I did with my second, 5 weeks before I went into labour. But as your overdue already it could be a sign that labour is starting.
