Default What happened when you used gas and air?

Just curious as to how many of you felt
    Nauseous?
    Vomited ?
    It helped with pain?
    Off your face?

I vomited uncontrollably, was woozy, developed the shakes, and felt off my head. It was AWFUL! But I don't regret trying it, it was a step I wanted to try before committing to an epidural.

Sorry, baby climbing on me and pressed send..

Second it made me feel tipsy and a bit out of it.
I didn't feel the stitches though and was able to relax so I thought it was good. Sorry I can't help for during labour (I didn't have anything for that.

It made me nauseous and I did vomit, but I was throwing up before the gas too... I didn't really feel off my face...

And it helped me focus on my breathing which was good

It made me projectile vomit, it was awful. I had been progressing well, and thought I'd try it before pethidine or epidural; it was the worst decision because the combination of projectile vomiting and increasingly painful contractions just sent my labour right off track and I lost focus. Will never use it again!

I felt like it didn't do anything, but the midwives kept insisting I keep using it. I think the act of breathing it in and out gave me something to focus on. The epidural later helped more!
