    It can also depend where you live. Here in Melbourne the city OBs seem to range from $3,000 to $6,000 out of pocket. Further out in the suburbs they can be much cheaper.

    My OB's staff booked me in to my hospital when I made my first appointment (booked when I was 4 weeks, for the first app at 10 weeks). Then the hospital sent me the forms and I posted them back with the $200 bond they require.

    Yeiks!!!!!! I'm glad I don't live in Melbourne. I live about an hour away though. Geelong public was shocking when I had my first bub. It's why I was asking about private. Might have to stick with public*

    Your ob will tell you when to book hospital
    mine needs booking at 13 weeks :0)
