Well I never heard back. Completely put off the job now anyways. Just would've appreciated an email at least.

Dress carefully, and for the role you're applying for. If its a professional role - dress accordingly.
Be nice to the admin staff/reception team. I always ask them what their impressions are of someone, how they spoke to them etc. Funnily enough I've been covering for the receptionist a few times when I have had candidates arrive for an interview, and they have been downright rude and dismissive of me - UNTIL the receptionist returns and I get up to usher them into the interview room! Ha ha.
Know the job. Know the company. Know what job you're interviewing for for goodness sake. Ha ha.
If you're not confident - fake it til you make it! A good way to improve your confidence is to be willing to engage in a little small talk with the hiring manager before launching into the interview if they're open to it. Helps you establish a rapport and be more comfortable with them.
I don't think 80c per hour is that big a deal, I certainly wouldn't turn a job I wanted down based on that!
    Best of luck
    This is all good advice

Until I got an internal promotion I was a receptionist and got to meet job candidates as they arrived. One person arrived 25 minutes early and it was really awkward having her sit there all that time. We chatted a little, but I was too busy to talk and didn't like having her there watching and listening to me. I think arriving 5 minutes early is more than enough.

Kw123: my interview was on 22nd Jan which was a Wednesday. I was told I'd hear early the following week. She said the Monday but probably forgot it was Australia day. So I expected the latest on the 28th.

    Hollywood: I thought so too.

Or maybe she's on bubhub and saw my post and decided she didn't want to hire me lol.

Applying for another job. I picked up a mistake in the job advert which I got clarified over the phone with the manager and she seemed impressed lol. Asked for my name and said she'd look out for my application. Hopefully better luck with this one.

That's such rubbish that you didn't hear anything back yet. Fingers crossed this was just a dress rehearsal for the next one

Didn't want to start a new thread for my quick question but just wondering what people thought. Saw a job i wanted to apply for but the closing date is in 4 days? Was advertised yesterday (14/2) but closes on 18/2. Isn't that a bit of a short time frame? First I thought that maybe it's just advertised cause they already have someone in mind and had to legally advertise it....But it's advertised on both the company's website and seek! Don't know if I should waste my time or not!
