Drop off all went well. No tears from either of us
He was all smiles when I picked him up. He said he likes his teacher and that he got his name on the gold circle (very good behavior) for putting away all the blocks (teacher's good/not good behavior system). He also was really happy he got to play with the friends that he knows from childcare, especially his good mate.
He didn't eat much though, only two pieces of fruit and sandwich. So he was starving when he got home. I've explained the he needs to eat two things at his eating breaks. I won't worry too much this week but keep an eye on it next week.

Hope everyone's first day at school is going well and mums are coping ok too!
My littlest DD starts prep next Wednesday and was very excited to get a letter in the post today from her new teacher! She got to meet her at the end of last year and visit the classroom for 1/2 hour so she already knew her name but getting the letter addressed to her was really lovely. Also included was a brown paper bag with her name printed on it, the letter asks her to find something that fits in the bag to bring for show and tell - she is now going through all her things trying to decide what to take, very cute!
I'm getting DD ready now for her first (half) day of school! Eeek, I have butterflies!!
Two very happy boys to be going to school here this morning. Two happier parents!
Can't get the photo uploaded though. Never mind!
Time to bump the thread. Just wondering how everyone is going?
We got a lovely teacher and my son seemed really happy.
But at lunch time yesterday after eating lunch, he decided to walk home! Luckily we dont live very far but it has DH and I in a complete panic.
We are now having a meeting about getting him a occupational therapist and he is now a known "runner".
I hope everyone else is doing better then we are.
Wow! How scary!! So far so good, great teacher and she loves it! Only had to buy 2 new drink bottles and 1 new lunchbox cos she keeps on losing them!
Oh Amira, I couldn't help but have a little giggle about your 'runner', he must have really missed home , oh dear, you must be very worried indeed, hopefully it' a one off.
Nearly one week down for my Miss, and I would really love it if she could muster a smile when I pick her up in the afternoons, as all I am greeted with is a grumpy face! When I ask her why the sour face, her standard reply is, "I'm so tired, Mum". On a good note, we really like her Teacher.
Hope everyone else's little one/s are going well so far.

I'm disappointed. I really thought school would tire my boys out. No such luck! Still getting up at the crack of dawn, still full of energy when they get home....!
Well Noms, if it makes you feel any better, I neglected to say that although my DD 'tells' me she's tired, no such luck! She has been my most wakeful one since she was born, so I was really excited at the prospect of School tiring her out, but no such luck, she still wakes early, is reluctant to go to bed at night and nothing has changed.
