Talking Prep, Pre-Primary... if your child starts official school this year, come chat!

It's confusing because it is called different things in different states, but if your child is starting their first year of primary school education this year, come and chat in here! We can compare cute photos, strategies to help cope (or party!?) and we can all celebrate together

I never thought this time would come, honestly! I remember when my twins were not even 1, I was begging for the time school would come around, and now suddenly here we are!

All basic uniform is bought, although they each only have one school shirt because I cannot find red polo shirts size 6 ANYWHERE I have looked in the whole of Victoria so that will be fun, trying to wash and dry them every night! New shoes, new school bags, new socks (my boys go through socks faster than anything!), new lunchboxes, new hats.. I think we're good to go! (Thank goodness for school kids bonus!)

I'm not sad- I'm actually looking forward to it!

    What about you?

    Me, me!

DD1 starts Prep (Vic) next week. I have just finished labelling all her things this morning. I feel like I am forgetting something important, but my list is pretty similar to yours above, so hopefully not.

DD1 & DD2 have been playing schools this morning. They looked too cute all dressed up (DD2 in DD1's spare dress).

I am both excited and nervous. Although I think DD1 will handle it all pretty well, she is a pretty adaptable kid. Not that there won't be challenges along the way I'm sure.

Me!!! Finally we made it to both boys in full time school I can't WAIT! We have to collect pre-ordered uniforms on the 29th and buy new shoes but other than that we are done

I am a tiny bit sad though! I can't believe how quickly the first 5yrs have gone, my little men are growing so fast

DS2 is very excited, although I don't think he will enjoy full time school so much.

We are repeating prep this year. So I have a good idea of what he needs. Not looking forward to them going back. I miss them soo much.

Does anyone know where I can get bag tags? I don't necessarily want a personalised one.

My Miss 4.5 yr is starting prep this year and I cannot believe how fast it has come around either.

I think we're all set, we've got the lunchbox, book pack, school bag, shoes, uniforms, though I need to try them on her to see if thy still fit, as I bought them in November.

At the moment she thins she's 'it and a bit' as the personalised labels have arrived with her 'name' on it!

Not sad here, I a quite excited for her.

I saw some cute ones in the local Pharmacy and have noticed a lot of other Pharmacy have them too, and Kmart has some a well in various designs.

Smiggle do them, I find the nat geo stores seem to have key chain type toys too. At a pinch you can get an old fashion key tag, they are great for hats too! Our school photo place does bag tags so when the kids get school photos done I buy them.
