We have a pajero it's excellent on fuel for an auto, continual air con and round town running. It is a diesel but I usually get around 700km per tank. We drove from Brisbane to Newcastle without filling up and with fuel leftover. Is around $120 to fill but I get 2-3 weeks worth out of that. I like diesel because it's easy to budget unlike petrol which fluctuates, diesel is always around the same price (give or take a few cents).

Third the oddessey. We get 490-540km on a tank. With AC on full blast in the city.

My friend has 3 kids under 5 and bought an Odyssey then had to sell it because she hasn't realized it doesn't have 3 car seat anchor points. Now she had a CX-9 and loves it.

Strange. Maybe my friend needed all the anchor points to be in the middle row and the odyssey had 2 middle one back?

I have 5 in my car too... Maybe it was an older model. 2007 onwards has 5. 3 in the middle row and 2@ the back. We've used all 5 spots too at different times.

I have the 2012 model odyssey, has 5 points, I get over 700km out of a tank and there is an eco button to help if you wanted to conserve fuel.

We have a Mazda CX9 and it does go through the fuel compared to the other cars I've had but found it was worth it for just how well the car is. I'm about to get a Nissan Patrol wish it was a turbo diesel though!
The Holden Captiva diesel model is good on fuel but not overly spacious compared to other 7 seaters..
