    Default Lengthening Luteal Phase

Ok ladies hit me with it. I have a friend who wants to lengthen her luteal phase. What are the options that she can try? I've heard about Vitex, has anyone had any success with it? Are there any other options besides going to the doc?

I had some success with B6 (combined with the other B vitamins) but I never had a short LP, I had just heard it helps with spotting (I was getting it 3 days before af). It helped with the spotting (reduce it to 1-1.5 days before af) and lengthened my lp by a day I think. My lp was already 13 days though.

How short is your friends lp?

    Hers is ten days long.

Mine is 11 days, I know I can fall pregnant with that length I've already had a baby.

Ideally it would be nice if mine was longer as well tho so I'm interested also.

LP went from 9-10 to 11-12 the first month and not sure what it would have been the second.

Ten days is the minimum length with which you can conceive but preferably you want to give bub as much time to implant as possible.

B vitamins (look for one with at least 50mg B6) might be worth a try. I haven't used vitex though but heard you can use it.

I took B6 all through my cycle & most of the way through my pregnancy as well. I conceived after three months of B6 I think.

I only have a 7 day lp ever since the birth of my 2yo. I used to have a 13 day lp. I have tried b6 and vitex unsuccessfully. I am not sure what I'm going to do when I want to TTC #2 but I've read plenty of success stories from ladies who have conceived with a 3 day lp or fallen pregnant whilst breastfeeding. I'm sure that it's to do with my prolactin levels as I still have 'milk' from 2 years ago.
If your friend has no success she can get hormones tested.
