Default Did the Verifi prenatal test correctly determine the gender of your baby?

So my husband and I have been in a state of shock for the last couple of months after I found myself pregnant for the fourth time - it was very much unplanned.

Given our ages and after discussing it with our OB we decide to get the Verifi prenatal screening blood test done. The results are back and we are so relieved that the baby has none of the syndromes they test for, yet we also found out the gender...

Now the reason I have gotten myself so worked up about this is we were told we are having a girl...

I have 3 sons...my MIL only has grandsons (8 of them!) so this came as a complete shock. We just assumed it would be a boy. Now I am too scared to get excited in case they have made a mistake with my results. Their website says the results are 98.4% accurate for XX gender determination.

Has anyone had this test and did your baby's gender turn out to be the same as the result?

Congrats on your girl! I had the Harmony test done, which is the same thing, just a different company. Their promotional stuff said 99% accurate though. But we were told we're having a boy, and I can tell you from ultrasounds that we are most DEFINITELY having a boy, lol! I would say that the 1 - 1.6% inaccuracy would only be due to lab error, or if there was a problem with the baby's sex chromosomes that may make it harder to determine gender. I think you can very safely assume you're growing a pink one.
