How are you feeling Rebecca? Best of luck for your LUSCS...you will probably be pleasantly-surprised at how civilised it is. When I was doing Anaesthetics at Dandenong Hospital, I used to LOVE the Caesar lists!! Lots of tears of happiness and joy! (I used to get teary EVERY time the OBGYN pulled out the bub...couldn't help myself!!).
    Good luck, J x.

Thanks do much ladies. I'll keep you posted. Anyone had steroids before for this sort of thing? No idea really what this entails. IV or just injection??

I'm not too bad thanks J37. Have calmed down a bit today. Helped having mum around for a bit to keep me company and to help me run around getting some prem clothes and washing etc done. Estimated weight is 5lb. Funny how they expected me to have a whoppa because of GD!

I hope she is ok. Was horrible hearing the words "still birth" as the main risk. Apparently her tummy is large but body not. Not quite sure what that means? She said no indication or organ or development issues; primarily that she is for some reason not getting what she needs??? So placenta issues and GD etc?

DH had been really calm which always worries me. Though he's always glass half full and keeps telling me that if there were major concerns they would have acted then and there yesterday. Funny how the change of plans has changed my worries from fear or procedure to fear of bubba issues.

But, trying to remember that she will be here Monday and apparently has a full head of hair which makes me smile.

Rebecca, they will probably give you betamethasone, which is an injection into the muscle (intramuscular). Generally 2 doses 12-hours apart. (Some OBGYNs use dexamethasone, which is just as effective.)
Your hubby is right though; if the OBGYN was REALLY worried, he would have delivered you immediately. I know it's hard, but try to relax. (Easier said than done I know!!).
    J xx.
