Had 32 week appointment today and told ill likely need a c-sect. Devastated. She is breech and because of GD, ob wants me to deliver (somehow) at 38 weeks. Ob doesn't like chances of her engaging fully with induction after trying to turn her at 36 weeks. I'd still like to try, but middies at work are telling me to go straight to c-sect as attempting to turn is quite painful and doesn't guarantee she'll stay head down.

Anyone had bubs turned before by ob?

Me? Nervous about induction don't wanna do it don't really know what it involves but then again it would be way worse not having DH there for the birth.

Sorry to hear this. Please look at the Spinning Babies website for info about how to try to turn bub naturally yourself through exercises. I haven't had a breech bub but had posterior presentation with Meadow and saw loads of stuff on here about how to turn breech too. Will take some commitment but very possible and worth a go. At 32 weeks there is still time. Might be worth starting a thread elsewhere asking what worked for others in same situation?

If you're not able to turn bub then read about your options regarding breech vaginal birth or c section so you can make an informed choice. And ask for plenty of info from your ob to help guide you, particularly in regards to your GD. Breech doesn't always have to mean c section but most choose this to minimise risk. And if you have gd and bub needs to come out early then induction can sometimes be less successful as your body isn't ready. Assuming the reason for wanting to deliver at 38 weeks is because bub is big due to the Gd? I've see lots of threads where people have been told this but on delivery the baby was much smaller than predicted, as growth scans are notoriously unreliable (have experienced that myself). So don't assume baby will necessarily be huge. If bub does turn the right way and your ob still wants to induce early due to gd then our very own @J37 had little Lucy after a GD induction before her due date, so sure she won't mind sharing her experience of this.

It's really important you get as much information as you can on all this to guide you in the next few weeks. Not an easy one hun, good luck!! Xx

Good luck. I loved my induction, though I do wish we'd got the mad panic freak out that would have happened if I'd gone into labour without the induction
