10 year olds can be still be sexually assaulted. Heck, grown adult women can be sexually assaulted even though I guess in theory they have the capacity to scream and shout to try and protect themselves.

I was interested if people would still have such harsh judgement if it was a 10 year old that was assaulted, or would we then feel it was ok to just blame the rapist.

I think the parents are already blaming themselves enough. I know I would be if they were my kids.

What happened was horrible. Would I have let my kids go to the loo alone? Unlikely. Is it the parents fault because they did? No.

To me equal blame is with the sick ***** who did this and the justice system. I haven't read anything on it, but I'd bet my last dollar he's done it before, has been jailed for it and let out after a measley 18 or so months.

Someone steals money from the work, or insider trading etc gets a much higher sentence than someone violently ripping away a young persons childhood. Sexual perpetrators should have the book thrown at them. They should never be allowed out of prison again. The man (let's not forget men get raped too), woman or child raped gets a life sentence. So why the hell should the scum that did it ever be let out in public again???

I'm sure there are a lot of teachers on this forum that would be appalled by this sweeping statement.

If a child comes to school with bruises
    Yes judgement
If a child comes to school with no lunch and we have to give them ours for the umpteenth time this year . Judgment
If a child has an accident, of course no judgement
We are all human too, and if we see neglect, we judge, that is what I'm saying
That's why we have to report things to docs

    Whaaa??

You mentioned drownings earlier, this is how we ended up here in the conversation.

I was asking a pretty simple question, and was about to agree that teachers have to make a judgement when they report to DOCS.
