I had horrible heart burn when i was pregnant with ds. He came out pretty much bald

Also the whole using your wedding ring or a ring you own and putting string through it then dangling it above your stomach.. Apparently predicts the gender.
A friend of my mums did it to me at 12 weeks and the ring said i was having a boy I had a boy too. Was creeeeeepy.

My mum explained this one to me. The reason being was back in our grandmothers time women mostly only came home with an empty pram if the baby died, so a fear developed over having an empty pram inside the house.

My dad told me if we didn't get rid of our two dogs I wouldn't fall pregnant. Apparently your affection & love is channeled towards the dog rather than telling your body to fall pregnant... It's an old family tale apparently. Guess we defied the odds falling pregnant & still completely loving our fur babies!

My mum believes this one too. She says to layby the pram and only go and pick it up after baby is safely in my arms. I didn't, I collected the lay by whilst in labour a few hours before she was born.

The reason mum believes it so strongly is kinda vague. She's mentioned having a still born child but won't go into details, and I think that she half believed the old wives tale, ignored it and bought the pram anyway, then the child was still born. I think mum blamed buying the pram on having a still born.

Hugs. That would have been so heartbreaking.

The reason that I know of behind the hanging washing thing, is stretching up. I had placenta abruption with my second, then with my third I was told by the ob's not to even hang washing!
