Hi ladies, just wanted to introduce myself. I have been on bh for a couple of years now and after 5 m/c I am pregnant again. We had given up trying and I was booked in to have my tubes tied as I could not handle another loss and I just turned 40. We only had sex once last month and I thought it would be ok but that one time has made a baby! After 1.5 yrs of trying! I am approx 6wk 4days...was not keeping track of af since not trying and high risk. 2 blood clotting disorders and 3 cavernomas in my brain. We have first scan on Friday and I saw the hb. A beautiful miracle! I will be scanned weekly so have another this coming Fri. Fingers crossed hb still there. Its very nerve wracking but im trying to go with the flow. Good luck to everyone x

What a truly wonderful surprise. Hoping all the best with this pregnancy.

I can't remember when your other cherubs passed - was it earlier or later in first tri?

    Thanks Little Ted!
The first one was 5wk 6days, 2nd between 7-8wks, 3rd early before scan, 4th 7wk 5 days but didnt know til 9 weeks and was Trisomy 22, 5th early again. We hadnt seen a hb for 2years. Missed it at the 4th one. They are deciding on Fri whether or not to put me on clexane but im on aspirin. Hopefully this one will stick. How are you going?

Okay, so there are some hurdles still to get past. Was hoping you were past your mc dates.

Went private with this one. Carlin wouldn't put me on clexane early enough (he said from 8 weeks) and wouldn't return (and to this day never returned) my calls either when the pregnancy could have been saved so I mc'd another one in August last year - it was overlooked that they had missed testing for half a dozen possibilities including immunology. (Even though other ladies on BH picked up what was wrong and the specialists couldn't - go figure!)

Clexane was great - it definitely was what worked for us. I was on aspirin last time and it wasn't enough. It does have its drawbacks (the whole non-coagulation thing) though and I would highly recommend close monitoring whilst on it. I had spotting from 9.5w-12w and had a scan which showed an old bleed that had stopped, but then when I went for a scheduled ob appt at 12.5w a fresh bleed was picked up that was considerable and it was recommended that we stop the clexane early or risk the bleed turning into a mc.

I started clexane from o and it was planned to be on it until at least 14w. Most of its job is done by then for my purposes, but I hear many women continue it from that point depending on their immune problems.

Hopefully they can make some wise decisions for you. It's difficult with your extra health concerns I know. I was amazed that I didn't seriously hit my head or cut myself during the 3 months as something of that nature would usually happen.

Let us know how you get on.

Thank you ladies. Hopefully its a very uneventful and boring pregnancy.
Is anyone else suffering or suffered from lower back pain in first trimester?
Its worse in the afternoon/evening. No front cramps.

Yes I did in very early pregnancy around 4 weeks, it was muscular and painful. It did not feel like menstrual back pain though. It had me on edge until I saw my physio.

No either had I, my pysio said she often sees women come in with unexplained pains and niggles in early pregnancy.
