Welcome meeksie! I'm currently 19 weeks after 2 previous losses around 4-5 weeks too.......I know how you must be feeling xx.

However with both of those pregnancies I never even got to have a scan.....so this one I had one very early even though I knew (and everybody said!) that it would be way too early to see anything. Anyhoo, had the appt at 5w 3d, and through am internal scan we got to see the hb! Was so happy.

But it's not for everyone. Wishing you all the best for a happy and healthy 8 or so months!! x

    Thanks for the welcome

I made my GP appointment for next Wednesday. My Obstetrician gave me a form to get early blood tests done in case I got pregnant again when I had my follow up with him after the D&C. But that was back in August so I have no idea if that would even still be valid. I will ask my GP or just get a new from from her.

A question for you, would you bother going to a specialist ultrasound place (one that only does pregnancy and gyno ultrasounds) for a dating scan? I normally just get sent to a general ultrasound place for dating scans but thought maybe going to a specialist one might be a good idea given my history.

Hi ladies, I'm just impatiently reading along as I wait for my 1st AF since my m/c on Christmas Eve so I can get started on the pill for my first IVF cycle and HOPEFULLY be lucky enough to join you soon but I just wanted to send big hugs to Leisylou. xoxo

Meeksie, your pathology request form lasts for 12 months (I work in Pathology ). I found out about my impending m/c by asking for a third hCG blood test in as many weeks so my dating ultrasound at 7 weeks just confirmed things but I had time to grieve and come to terms with things a little without the horrible situation of being all excited going in for a scan and only finding out with the doctor searching and searching for the heartbeat . My first hCG result was 112 at 15dpo, 1080 a full week later and 1300 another week after that. It's supposed to double approximately every second day.

I have just gone to a bulk billing ultrasound place for the two dating scans I have had... The rest of my scans have been at a specialist ultrasound place...

For our first three and for some of our angels I went to a bulk-bill sonographer. For this one I've only gone through our FS and ob. With our last pregnancy and the one before it was the bulk-bill sonographer that told me more and through which I was able to work out what was going on.
