Default Losing baby after 20 week scan

Yesterday we received the agonising news that our baby has Trisomy 13 and his prognosis is very poor and unlikely to make it full term. We are at a loss as to understand why as the 12 week scan showed a very low risk of this developing. We are left with the awful decision as to whether or not to terminate. This is our first baby after trying to conceive for a long time. We are both devastated. Has anyone else been through the same? I am 36 years old and scared that even if we managed to conceive again, the same thing will happen

We lost our daughter at 20 weeks but she had died in-utero. It's truly one of the hardest things you will ever go through and I'm sorry you have to experience this.

There is one hubber on here who went through something similar. If you search Edwards Syndrome you can find her thread but I'll also tag her. @Allymumtobe

I'm so sorry you are going through this. You must be beside yourself

I have no experience with this, but there are plenty of ladies on here who have had to deal with all kinds of devastating losses.

There will be plenty of support here.

that sucks so badly i'm so sorry. getting the results is devastating. you can check out mt thread and i'm happy to answer any questions.

My son was diagnosed full Trisomy 18 at 17+5. i chose to continue my pregnancy but lost him at 30 weeks.

For me after ttc and IVF we were 2.5yrs in and I wasnt ready to give or to make the hard decision. no decision is wrong neither will feel right either. its just an awful thing.

PM me if you like or i'm happy to discuss here too
