Strange about the DHEA as it appears she has put some on and as you mentioned not you. Do you know what your AMH levels are as maybe that has something to do with it?

No worries, I have just read back through the thread to read up on your history and see that you have low AMH levels, like you said maybe she has trialled it and feels it makes no difference? A bit confusing really?

Another question ladies, did your partner go with you to the initial appointment? My DH does FIFO from WA and he won't be here for the first appt because he is away. I figured it wouldn't be a problem because he has no issues. He has been tested at our last clinic and everything is good with him. Just don't want her to be expecting the 2 of us if you know what I mean? I think I am just paranoid but hey!

Re your hubby, I don't think he needs to be at the appointment if it's not possible but Lynn may request a further sperm test from him. My hubby was 'fine' at MIVF then when Lynn tested him she found major sperm issues which changed our treatment. There are different sperm tests apparently which is not very reassuring!
Interesting about the DHEA, I have low AMH and was on it, not sure if it made the difference for me but something worked! That was 2 years ago now tho... Good luck with your appt x

Welcome to the thread catty caned muzzy......

most at probably Lynn will do a laproscopy and hysteroscopy witha dye test just to have a look from inside which is good. This is what she did with us . I saw her in nov for the first time and she booked me in decor these procedures plus she likes to have a new sperm test for ur partner/hubby even if you have done it before and will order a lot of blood tests for u as well . She is very thorough. And I am also on melatonin, vit e, coq10 and else it.

i have been mucked up my mivf for years and years and finally I think I am in good hands . We are starting ivf in February . I normally expect my period to come in the first week of February. Will keep u posted how it goes.. Very scared but praying hard that we get good quality embryos.. We all are here to support each other in this journey. May 2014 be the lucky year for all of us.

kelly.. I hope ur Fsh comes down with the Chinese medicines richard gives you and u star ivf very soon. Praying for u. Good luck

seahorse I wish u all the best and I think we start in fe bif aim not wrong

Thank you all for my welcome!!
I am super excited to be seeing Lynn as I have heard a lot of good things about her and have had a gut feeling about my current fs! Should I start the ball rolling now to do Ivf with monash? We aren't planning another cycle till about April which is after our appointment but I don't want to get to April and have to possibly wait few months for paper work etc, happy to wait if Lynn thinks I need more tests etc! Does Lynn do the testing for immune disorder (apologies I can't remember the name) sorry for all the questions, just want to be prepared when my appointment comes around!! Hehe

Hi muzzy, it doesn't take long to register with monash. Just bring all your paperwork (police checks etc) and they scan it all in. If you've already had counselling then it shouldn't take too long to get started. Lynn will assign you a nurse and you will then get a further letter with her details and an info pack from monash saying you are good to go in the mail about a week later. That was my experience anyway! I haven't cycled yet tho due to fsh and I'm also not mentally ready to go again. I'm think May at this point but will see what happens with my fsh. Has to come down first!

Beta - yes I thought it was strange too re DHEA as I have such a low amh. But she's a obviously done a bit more research on it and now isn't so quick to recommend. Did you experience any effects?

    Seahorse - good luck!

Lastly, can anyone tell me how to start a new thread? I must be a but dopey as I can't work it out.... I want to see if anyone else has experience taking HRT to combat high fsh. Thanks :-)

    Hi Ladies,

I had my first appt with Lyn today. She of course has recommended more tests. She won't commit to another egg pick up yet either. She is going to ask my surgeon first. I have no idea what he will say.

Also she thinks my ovaries could be totally ruined from my recent bowel perforation from the egg pick up in October. This was hard news to take. And there also may be no access to my ovaries now I've had another huge operation. She also refused to operate as well.

She thinks DE and traveling to South Africa might be my only other option. Which she will support.

I have a follow up appt in a month, after seeing my surgeon for the post op report.

It least I've got some answers and a FS who will help with the other options.

Frances, just saw your post you poor thing - that's not easy news to get.
At least you know that Lynn is not just going to blow wind up your skirt - if she can't help she will tell you. She's helping me on my DE cycle.
    Big hugs to you lovely.

    Thanks Em,

It has been a hard day, I did not relaise the infection could do so much damage. I'm just waiting for my AMH test results and an ultra sound to see how bad things have been screwed around. I thought yep thy have saved my ovaries, dodged a bullet, loose some small intestine, got heaps of that who cares. WRONG !!

My old FS would not support me in South Africa for donor eggs, said the TWWEB so much better. Lyn has recomended CFC already and said will help with scripts and things. We had planned to do this in March this year. But now I've got so many complications it been pushed back to Septmeber. I'm just ****ed about the time that been wasted.

But at least I'm getting a plan.

    Thank you
