Default Returning faulty goods to cash converters

Do you have to take it to the same store you purchased it from?
Do they give refunds of store credit? Can you use the credit at another store?

I bought a pair of roller blades yesterday (to skate around with my daughter, only payed $20) but the clip on the side if faulty.

DF used to work there and their policy is either refund or store credit on faulty items. Which you get can depend on the store person and what kind of mood they're in though...
