    How long have you been living there for? I wonder if they are targeting the house for a reason? Previous dodgy tenants? Hope you get something sorted

    Can you leave the porch light on or get a home alarm system that gives you a big red sticker to put on your window showing your house is monitored??

    Yes, you can break your lease. Mostly they'll just be concerned about loss of income. Be prepared to pay the rent for the number of weeks the unit may be without a tenant whilst they advertise & review applications and any other costs associated (advertising fees and possibly lease fee for new tenant).
