Default Calling all NSW Central west members!

I am looking for BH members who live in the central west and would be happy to chat with me and answer some questions about the area. We are a young family from Brisbane looking for a country change, seriously considering a move to this area. I'm particularly hoping to find someone in OBERON, but this is proving to be a challenge. Oberon is currently at the top of our list but I'm also interested in finding out more about Bathurst, Orange, Parkes and Forbes in the area. Anyone around this area that can help??

What is about Oberon that takes your fancy? There are pros and cons, I like that it snows. It isn't much of a heritage town and the mill always has smoke coming out of it. Groceries are very expensive and lots of people do their main shopping in Bathurst. Not much in the way of health care and jobs etc.

Bathurst is a heritage town, good food, good schools good health care. It is annoying in race week - Bathurst is crazy then and lots of locals go on holidays. It gets really hot in summer and really cold in winter but never really snows.

Orange heritage town, not too hot in summer compared with everywhere else. Cold in winter and sometimes snows. Amazing hospitals/healthcare. Really high crime rate, I have never been able to work out why it is so much worse there.

Can't comment on the others sorry.
