She is fine today. Drinking well, and sleeping well so far. She doesn't vomit often aft all so it was a bit scary to see the blob of blood (it was red, but darker as it was coagulated). I suspect she has silent reflux so ill discuss that with the dr too. Thanks

My ds3 did exactly the same once. He was diagnosed at 3 weeks with silent reflux. Not sure if it was related or not, but assume so. No idea where it came from either! I've never had nipple issues or anything like that.

    Goodluk with the docs

On a side note, if the nitstat isn't working for you try daktarin oral gel. Rub it on your nipples before and after a feed. It says not for infants under 6 months but that is only due to the choking hazard of which there is none if bubs is just sucking it off your nipples. I found nilstat did nothing but daktarin worked much better.

My dd did this. After the first time of it happening I took her to the doctor and it was caused by silent reflux. She was put on medication (I think it was liquid Zantac) for about 2 months and all was fine after that. Good luck.

I have another thread floating around about the thrush. I've been using daktarin gel for three days but it wasn't getting better so now I'm using daktarin before and after feeds and treating dd with the nilstat too. Its slightly less painful today.
