    Default Faith in humanity restored!

So I have totally had my faith in humanity restored this evening! Here's the story....

Yesterday afternoon we came home from grocery shopping and found a little staffy pup on our lawn. She was super friendly and only a baby so we did a quick check around our neighbours to see if anyone recognised her. No-one did, so we decided to keep her for the night (Sunday evening) and contact local vets/RSPCA in the morning.

Later on I took my boys to my mum's and DH texted me to say the dog's owner had knocked on our door and DH was able to reunite her with her owner. I was pleased because I hate seeing lost dogs away from their homes.

Anyhoo tonight our door bell rings and the dog owner has returned (only a young guy) with his partner and child. They came to give us a box of chocolates and a thank you card!!! I was blown away!!! We chatted for a few minutes then off they went.

After they were gone I opened the card and inside they had written a lovely thank you message as well as put 4 x $2 scratchies in it! I am so surprised that they went to so much effort but they have restored my faith in people and I knew we did the right thing by caring for the dog.

Pretty cool huh! Do you have any stories that have restored your faith in people?

That's a lovely story, they must have been very relieved and thankful

I have one - Yesterday I took DD to a skate park to ride her scooter. A 13yo boy came over and introduced himself, encouraged and helped DD to practice some tricks and just generally made her day, she was stoked. A couple of times DD had a crash and kids would always run over to help her up. Made me feel hopeful about DD's generation.

I was grocery shopping on my own with DS a few weeks ago and was really struggling to unload the trolley as DS was crying and I was trying to do it one-handed while trying to settle him. The elderly man in front of me gave me a smile and asked if I needed a hand, then unloaded it all for me. I was so grateful! It was just a lovely gesture.

Also, my neighbours brought over a little gift for DS when he was born, even though we'd only spoken a couple of times over the fence . So lovely of them!

aww that's great, the supermarket seems to be the setting for so many stories of strangers being rude and judgemental, what a lovely change!

I was at the hospital wit ds the other day feeling pretty down and tired because he was unwell. A woman came over to coo over ds which as everyone with newborns knows happens a lot but thi lady took the time to ask how I was and then after me being honest and sayin I was tired she told me I was doing a great job and every sleepless night I am getting closer to a bright and happy child. It was just what I needed I hear.

It was something so small but every time I am struggling with a night feed or I'm just exhausted I think of this woman's words and I smile.

Such lovely stories everyone! There is so much doom and gloom in the world that it's easy to forget there truly are decent people out there. Keep them coming if you have one!
