Our initial FS appointment was about $300, then I had a HyCoSy (about $400) & AMH blood test $75. It didn't do me much good, since it just showed there's nothing wrong with me, but at least I know that now. What testing have you had?

I've had every kind of blood test, I've had many ultrasounds (confirmed pcos) and hubby has also been tested (perfect sperm). Everything is normal for me except my ovulation. If I'm not pregnant by my next appt dr's going to book me in for a laparoscopy and do a hsg at the same time. My normal gp ordered a hsg for me but I didnt have the $300-$400 it cost to do.

Excuse me for not sharing the same enthusiasm!!!!! I want a damn baby now!! I'm sick of trying I'm sick of the mechanicism of BDing and charting and everything ttc related! I'm sick of never feeling hopeful because I know I fail and fail and fail and I don't know why I even bother doing it anymore. Maybe I should just accept I'll be childless and move on with life!! Sorry for ranting but I'm SO over everything right now
Hi Star, I prob shouldn't write this but my current FS instead of prescribing me provera to bring on a period got me to take the pill for 10 days (starting with the white pills not the seven coloured ones) & then stop which bought on AF. Then I was able to do another round of clomid starting from CD 2 of my cycle I think it was.

Good luck, I know how hard it is. I only get AF once a year & it's incredibly frustrating !!! It also shouldn't matter what age you are. It's so hard at any age when u want it so bad. My 1st appt with my current doctor annoyed me because she was saying 'you're so young, you've got plenty of time'. I felt like screaming 'im almost 30 & want more than one child. This has taken me 3 years & I don't have one plus after my lap earlier in the year they said I'll prob end up with a premie due to my biocornuate uterus. I think some doctors just don't realise how hard it is sometimes....

Sounds really tough starflame, have you been on metformin before or seen a naturopath? Either of these might control your pcos and ovulation better? xx

Im so sorry Star, like you we are young and the bull about being young and having time (when reality your chances of getting pregnant get lower and lower as you get older)

Like you we started years ago did all the testing and were told just keep trying, well guess what Im over trying and over all of it, spending thousand for a chance taking bloody handfuls of vitamins and meds to "help", charting, buying the special lube etc etc. I just want a baby like everyone seems to be able to have without even trying. Grrr rant over.

Starflame I hope you get your baby soon

Hugs It must be tough for you. DH & I waited until we could "afford" to have kids, so at least we can afford to spend money on specialists etc... Although, if it gets to IVF we'll be hoping it works first time, otherwise we'll have to wait a while to try again. I keep thinking I wish we'd started ttc when we were younger, but then there's no guarantee it would have made a difference.

I hope you get AF soon, followed by your BFP.

Thanks ladies. It's all so frustrating. I've been on metformin before yes, I gained weight when I was on it so I stopped taking it and the gyno agrees it's probably pointless being on it. I'm so tired of the "you are still young" bs. I wanted my second child at the age I am so it's really screwed all my plans for my family. If getting one child takes this long how long is it going to take to get a second? It just all sucks and I'm honestly ready to throw in the towel and accept that it's just not meant to be

A lot of the tests performed by the FS can be obtained by the GP and you can probably find somewhere that bulk bills for the majority of them.
Do you have a good GP you could talk too?
I understand what you mean about wanting more then one and having a life plan but unfortunately life does not always work out like that. I had wanted to at least have our first by 30 and be TTC for our second, instead we are still TTC our first and I worry if it takes us so long with our first what will it be like when we are trying for our second. Unexplained fertility sucks!

Star. I could have written that frustrated post I got a HSG done and bc it was an xray as opposed to u/s as a hycosy, it was completely bull billed. 25 isn't that young at all (and ykwim by that lol). We are too far from a FS and the costs of going back and forth is too much, as is any type of assisted conception so I totally get it. Seriously, go see a GP, don't tell them you are seeing a gyno and get provera. It's your body!!!

AFM - I finally got the go ahead for a lap end of next month. It's frustrating as it's right at the time of testing so DH doesn't want to risk what could be a possible m/c from being pg and having the lap so we are out next month and I know I'm out this month as well. 8-9 DPO and all the signs are there I'm out. The only saving grace is I will ovulate 2 weeks after the lap and from what I've read that's enough time to go again. So I'm out until March now Worst is I know they won't find anything and I feel like I'm going through an op for nothing....

Rocky- thanks basically FS said it could be something physical or hormonal so she wants to check all that out first, apparently we can still get UTD but the chances are severely diminished. I will know a lot more at the next apt on Feb 18th, but looks like it's try for heaps longer to see if we get lucky, or IVF. And I am sick of waiting. How are you traveling?

Delirium- he is already on menevit Hopefully it is something fixable, will know more on the 18th Feb. I hope you caught the egg this month

Welcome fenchu,it must be annoying having no diagnosis You just want them to tell you what is wrong so you can fix it! How long have you been trying?

Welcome Nikita. Sucks to be here!

Just seen you updated delirium, have you had a lap before? Hopefully you will find something
    Xxxx
