    Default Rockhampton - anyone here???

In between puking my guts out today, I read an article titled "Fifty reasons to be glad you're pregnant" thinking it might lift my spirits. Instead, it was one of the most depressing things I've ever read because virtually none of it applied to me. I am an immigrant from America, living in Rockhampton (Emu Park) and although I have lived here for two years, I have no friends. I have no partner (he was gone before I knew I'd conceived and for the sake of my child, I've no desire to rekindle the flame). My mother is supportive, but she has a lot of responsibilities so the most she can really do is offer the frequent (and appreciated) "hang in there" and empty the bucket after I puke. The rest of my family is wary or just disconnected from the whole situation (esp since I've miscarried before). So here's why I'm posting:

Is anyone else on this website living in or around Rockhampton? I would REALLY love to make a friend where we could be excited for each other in the ups and downs to come. I'm 30 y/o and no stranger to raising kids (I've had foster kids since I was old enough to be licensed) but this is my first pregnancy. So I could really get along with just about anyone who has kids, doesn't, has an intentional pregnancy or an "oops", has a partner or doesn't... I just want someone to connect with. I don't want to go through this whole pregnancy alone...

Hi I live in emu park too. I am not pregnant but currently trying with a few issues. If you'd like to catch up for coffee one time and chat. Im new to emu park. Just finished building. Work in western australia but about to finish in a few weeks so be home soon. Sorry to hear about the loss of your partner. Your bubby will be very special. How has the pregnancy been?
