    Default Brisbane Hospital Catchment Areas.

I have been trying to research what hospitals I would be eligible to go to (I want to start getting prepared for when I get my BFP). I haven't decided yet if I will go public or private, I just want to know what my options would be. I am having a lot of trouble trying to research and would love some pointers. I live in south brisbane (Runcorn/Fruitgrove). Thank you in advance.

You will most likely be in the catchment for the Mater, not sure what others though.

You put your postcode in and it tells you what options you have.

    Hey there
So if you go public you will need to go to a hospital for which catchment area you fall into. Mater mothers is one I defiantly know you fall in their area but they are very busy so you need to book in ASAP. Otherwise I would assume you could possibly go Logan public (good luck with that tho :s) lol There is a mater public at Redlands I'm not sure what their catchment area tho I had a quick google but couldn't find it. Just call them up and ask if you fall within their catchment area then you will know for sure
private don't put limitations on where you live in regards to the hospital distance however, obviously don't chose one too far away! I live a few suburbs from you and I'm going to greenslopes private my other option was sunnybank private which is closer but the ob I wanted is at gph plus it's a brand new maternity ward. You could also chose any of the city hospital like Mater private or the Wesley ect.
    Good luck

Glad I started looking at all of this now. I would prefer Mater over Logan. If I can't get into Mater then I think I'd look at going private.
