Default Car seat for 6yr old

Dd is 6 and a half weighs 24kg what car seat (booster seat) should I get. She had a maxi rider ahr but cleaning it tonight noticed cracks in foam head peice. What's the restraint rule having issues finding it on google. Don't want to spend too much as money is tight after Xmas.

You should be able to get the foam replaced. Try googling "replacement foam for maxi rider". I hope this helps.

Cracked foam isn't dangerous but give Britax a ring and they'll replace it for you. What's her seated height? The Infasecure Vario is great, or the SNS Hi Liner.

Your profile says you're in Queensland and this is what their Department of Transport site says:

Question: What are the rules relating to child restraints?
All children up to 7 years of age must be secured in a child restraint. A child may stop using a child restraint once they turn 7 years of age or if their seated shoulder height is above the top mark of the restraint or their eye level is above the back of the booster seat.

    4 – 7 years
Check manufacturer’s information and product guidelines to ensure correct usage.
Booster seat with lap-sash H-harness or a booster seat with a secured adult seatbelt.

    Hope that helps.

Just remember that the Maxi Rider is only tested to 26kg with the seatbelt. If she doesn't meet the 5 step test by the time she hits 26kg you'll need another booster.

All seats have height markers now, you'll need to go to a store (Big W, Kmart or a baby store depending on what seat you're after) and try him out in them. Encore 10 has the highest markers but is the most expensive, otherwise the Hi Liner (both safe and sound) or the Infa Vario are good.
