Unhappy Faint Line on First Response Test after Negative Digital Result

    Hello All,
I am new to the forum and have been reading so many posts that I am getting myself all in a bother. My husband and I have been trying to concive using the BBT method - my cycle is not yet regular after a long time on the pill. I assumed I had not concieved this month but in Christmas Day I did a Clear Blue digital pregnancy test to make sure. The result was BFN.

I then indulged over Christmas/Boxing Day.

On the 27th, I decided to do another test (still not sure why) but I've been having really sore breasts - hugging my loved ones over Christmas was not fun!

I tested at 3:30pm (approx 13dpo) and got a really faint line. Completely shocked but thought it could be a false positive. Tested today 28th (14 dpo) and recived another faint line, slightly darker than the first. Took photos but it dosen't really show up when I do so, happy to upload if need be. AF due either 27/28 or 29 (as I said, I'm not yet regular).

Could I be pregnant? Is a line always a line? I feel so awful for drinking over Christmas and feel like the worst person in the world. I guess I'm just looking for some reassurance that I am not awful and some assistance if I might be pregnant. Shoud I wait and do another digital test?

Ahhh - sorry for the verbal outpouring, I'm just so confused.

It is a bit confusing isn't it! Personally I would go see your GP. My husband & I were arguing over whether the test was positive or not (I wasn't convinced) so we hopped into the car & went down to see our dr. They did another test & confirmed a very faint positive.. But it very much was a positive! I figured it was their job to determine these things & my blood test also confirmed I was 5 weeks pregnant.

Good luck & fingers crossed for you!

I would trust the line on the first response.
Personally I think doing the digi at 11dpo was possibly a little early as they are not as sensitive as a FR.
Don't worry that you indulged over xmas - its too early for it to have any impact on bub.

ETA: off to the gp for you - request a blood test and not their version of a pee stick because they are usually cheapies that are less sensitive than a FR anyway.

    Congratulations

I would trust the lines too!
As pp said 11 dpo was probably a little early for it to pick up the digital.

Congratulations yep I'd def trust those lines

Regarding the indulging I wouldn't worry too much, at the moment bub is feeding off a yolk sack and the only interaction between you and the pregnancy is the placenta which is still forming, that's what gives of HCG which is what pregnancy tests pick up.

Congratulations! What a lovely Christmas surprise!
Don't feel bad about the indulgence over Christmas, it will have absolutely no effect on bubby, it's too early.

Yep! I got drunk on vodka about a week before getting a bfp with my last baby and was told the same thing by my doctor. I'm curious to see a picture of the test but yes a line is a line. So congrats
