Default I was bitten by a dog today...

I was walking home from the park pushing along DD in her little bike, when a couple walking 3 little dogs passed us by- the dogs began yapping and the owner attempted to hold the most aggresive one back by placing his leg across it as I passed but it managed to lunge at me and bite my leg.
It pierced the skin and drew blood. The owners were very apologetic and the wife looked at my leg and wiped the blood away; I didn't think it was severe so accepted it and we parted ways. I know I should have taken their details but I didn't. Stupid. My leg quickly developed into welts and had turned into a purple bruise with several puncture marks. I washed it straight away and applied Bepanthen antiseptic cream. Do I need to see a doctor or just keep applying the cream and keep an eye on it? Do I need any type of injection now? We don't have Rabies here, right?

Ouch! Yes, see a Dr. You will be given an antibiotic injection to prevent infection.

Yep, doc ASAP for antibiotics. Dog bite wounds can get nasty infections

Asap would be best but considering it's a public holiday most wouldn't be open unless you go to emergency. Don't walk on it, keep it up as you can pump poison through your body if the dog was infected.

I'd also report to Council as the dog is what would be considered aggressive if it has lunged and bitten for no reason. What if it was a child's face

I'm a dog lover and have little dogs myself, but I would never forgive myself if my dog bit someone, especially if it was just for walking past.
