Default Ozsale Voucher instead of Refund

    Hi Everyone,

Just wondering if anyone one can give me some advice?

I recently order something through ozsale and after paying for it was then told it was not available due to inventory issues and I have received a voucher for the amount to use on my next order. After many issues with ozsale I had decided after this order that I would no longer be using them as I was having too many issues with them.

After been told that I had received a voucher I contacted them and said I wanted it refunded as I wouldn't use the voucher. They have just responded with once a voucher has been issued they can't refund it back to credit card.

I have said to them it is not good enough and if it's not refunded I will be taking it further.

Do I have a leg to stand on and if I do, who do I contact?

    Thanks

It isn't your fault that they had inventory issues, so they should of just refunded your money in the first place. I had the same thing happen to me at another one of those sites and they refunded me the money AND gave me a voucher for my troubles.

I would get in contact with consumer affairs to see what can be done about it.

Do they have a fb page? It seems to be a way to get companies to respond the way you want. Otherwise I'd contact fair trading.

Thank you. I've contacted consumer affairs, just waiting to hear back from them. The thing that really annoys me is they didn't ask whether I wanted a refund or voucher, just gave the voucher and now say that it can't be refunded because a voucher has been given. So sneaky and frustrating! Hopefully consumer affairs can help.

I'd be livid if they did that, you should have at least been given the choice given it's their stock issue. I hope consumer affairs can help.

I've had some probs with ozsale and they were eventually fixed after talking to someone in Syd and they said their customer service is mainly overseas and do a great job but sometimes they just don't get it.
I would hope the person who emailed you just hasn't looked outside the box for a solution and just gone with standard company policy stuff. Give them another try by phone

They have not fulfilled the contract so you should be entitled to a full refund. Issuing a voucher is trying to keep your money there and I'm pretty sure that's illegal when they are at fault.

This is exactly how I feel/think. Hopefully consumer affairs will led me in the right direction.
