Default When do you buy Christmas presents?

I'm interested in hearing your opinion on when you buy your Christmas presents?

I like to be organised but start to buy gifts around October (have 2 kids plus lots of nieces and nephews etc.) So I buy things but then I get caught up in the hype of sales and end up buying 'extras' on top of the presents I already have. Especially for my kids.

The other day when I went to wrap the presents, I was gob smacked about how much I accumulated! I'm now convinced that my quest to be organised is flawed! Does anyone leave Christmas shopping to the last minute? Do you stick to budget and not overbuy?

Think I need to rethink my strategy next year.

Usually I'm more of a last minute shopper and leave it all to do in December.
This year I decide to be super organised and bought everything online in October/November. It backfired on me big time though as the package with the bulk of presents has only just been sent and we most likely won't receive it until after xmas.

i did 90% of mine yesterday! I have been compiling a list for a couple of months and just went out and got as much as i could in 2.5 hours.

It does help with the not getting so much crap you forget what you have, or one person getting 3 times as much as another. However, maybe 5 days before christmas is a little late, next year thinking i will just focus on December. I would also like to get more handmade stuff that generally has to be ordered Nov-Dec.

I like to have just about everything by the beginning of Dec. There are always 1 or 2 last minute things though.

December, did most of it a couple of days ago! I found that most things had already been reduced in price too!

I start buying in about November , ill at least have a completed list of what I need to buy by beginning of December and make sure all the big or popular presents are bought but I do like last minute shopping as that's the fun of it all and usually just buy whatever appeals - but I went shopping on Wednesday , Thursday night and yesterday and to be honest I was surprised the shops were no where near as busy as previous years

This is exactly what happened to me this year! Usually I leave it until a week or 2 before, and yes I do stick to budget. The only downfall of this is that things are often sold out.
Did you make a list and follow it? I didn't make a list until I was almost finished shopping LOL, so I just ended up buying and buying, then when I made my list I had to buy some more to even things out between kids. I'm wondering if I made a list before I started shopping, then started in early December, then maybe that might work out a bit better...

Always December. I like to shop when all the Christmas music and festive stuff is in the shops. I make a list of what people get and usually stick to it.
