Can't say that the Viagra is having the 'effect' you'd expect for me, hehe.

Good news here today. We got 16 mature eggs from our wonderful donor today. Fingers crossed that they do what they're meant to overnight and for the next 5 days (and beyond!)

EmmaJane, thinking of you. I hope you are doing ok. And RoRo, everything crossed for you too.

Just enjoying a lovely wine from a winery we visited yesterday. It's my last hurrah before transfer.

I just got the call from the clinic and apparently the doctor was incorrect yesterday in saying 16 eggs were mature. (We did think he sounded a little unofficial when he told us that number, like it was just what he thought rather than knew to be true)

In reality, there were actually 24 eggs and 21 have fertilised. We are in total shock. I was aiming for 8 fertilised.

Wow MrsErinR, that is huge!! Even if half make it blastocyst you will have the chance of having a tribe of kids into the future! Good luck, I hope the remaining 5 days prove just as fruitful!!!

I can't imagine that half would make it to blast. That would be a miracle surely!? With my own egg cycles it was usually about 25% that got there.

I don't want to jinx it by hoping for high numbers at blast.

Nat, the wine is going down a treat. :-)

You never know! I regularly had 2/3rds make it to blast - two out if three though, not 14 out of 21! All toes crossed for you.

I had another beta today: 11,000 at 24dpo. Officially now the second furthest I've got so far. Still got all fingers and toes etc crossed.

Well the astonishing news just keeps on coming. I just got my 3 day update and apparently we now have 23 embryos. WTF!

It seems that 2 that didn't look to have fertilised have caught up and the existing 21 have kept going too.

That's fantastic. News RoRo and MrsErinR. I have everything crossed for both of you! MrsErinR, if this works out for you I might have to convince my DP that a trip to SA would be worth our while

    Great news roro. How exciting!

Just a thought for those of you doing any IVF. I don't want to be a downer, but something to think about.....I didn't consider properly what I felt about embryos not used until after I had success having our bubs first try. We only had one embryo left in storage but it caused me soooo much angst, and still does, about the decision made about what to do with it. We didn't have counselling prior to IVF, it wasn't required at our clinic, so perhaps it was something we should have done to be aware of this decision. I didn't think deeply about it at the time, I just wanted a baby! But afterwards I've found it quite a big deal. Perhaps it's just a conversation with your partner, or perhaps it is a simple decision for you, but please keep it in mind. I wish I'd had a better thought process about it. I still struggle with it today and feel I could've armed myself with more knowledge and made better decisions. Just keep it in mind where you might stand on managing it.
