How would have the same group of guys reacted if she was sitting there in a skimpy bikini...???

These sorts of attitudes suck. I'd have had to have said something.....

Yes you are, you're a Mum who cares about her babies, that makes you a superhero. (You don't need a cape though and don't go wearing your undies outside your trousers.)

I would have let them have it. If no one does, they will never learn how ignorant and offensive such attitudes are. The thought makes my blood boil.

Just want to clarify that those guys were definately out of line and mums should be able to feed publicly anywhere they like without shame. I was just trying to explain that they might have felt uncomfortable just as I feel with people being able to see me. I know it's my own issue. Like I said though perhaps their attitude will change when they become parents.

Dislike! My husband gets funny about it. I get so angry! I have a feeding cover but my daughter hates it! She gets hot and tries to pull it off.
So interesting. We recently went to Asia. I needed to feed her and I put feeding cover on. The tour guide asked what it was for. She couldn't believe that our society makes us cover up. She said you're feeding your baby and men there don't get offended they just see it as exactly a mother feeding their baby.

My brother was mortified when I breastfeed dd 8 weeks covered up etc. Even his wife said when its my turn to breastfeed our children I am not going into the bathroom just so you don't have to look, thank god she educated him. But everyone is correct on this forum it feels to a mother people are just so uneducated and pass rude uninvited comments when feeding our children bottle fed or breastfed or extended. Educate this society to do the right thing and butt out.

The point of speaking up is that if you stay silent you are basically allowing this old believes to stay alive and kicking.

In most groups discussion there are a few confident people speaking their mind and the vast majority staying silent cause they don't want to create troubles.

The. everybody walks away thinking everyone agreed... You never know maybe 5 other people there thought the same than you and stayed silent too.

It's something my psychologist told me. Now I speak up and I found that I always get back up from other people that are just waiting for someone to take the lead and voice another opinion.

I have no time for people's crap these days, and would have just shared my opinion on what they were going on about. Not in a nagging, tsk-tsk way, because people just ignore you if you do that. I'd just say things to make them see how absurd their opinion was.

People are weird when it comes to breasts as functional body parts. They're cool with them being out on display when it's to titillate... just not any other time. Seriously, I bet more people would quietly complain about me being an exhibitionist if I breastfed during a social event than if I just whipped a tit out for a laugh. People are idiots.
