    Nothing wrong with cats as long as you follow basic hygiene precautions. Yes, they can carry toxoplasmosis but once they excrete it it is another 48 hours before it reaches the infective stage. You can change kitty litter - just do it at least once a day and wear gloves. You have more chance of getting infected from eating undercooked meat.
    I am a vet and get tested before all my pregnancies. Despite examining cats bums and changing kitty litter I still haven't contracted toxoplasmosis.

    I emptied my kitty litter daily without issues.
    Just washed my hands well after.
