Default Gender Scan - How early?

When did you find out the gender of your bub? I know we usually find out at the 19 week Morphology scan, but due to my history I get extra scans.

So I have one on Friday and I will be 14 weeks and 3 days..

Think we'll be able find out??

They could possibly give you an indication, but gender parts can still be changing at that point. Though some people get told 'looks like a girl/boy' at 12 week scan and is almost always right. Mind you I went for my gender scan at 16 weeks on the dot and he was 100% sure bubs is a girl.

The other thing is the sonographer - if they're not there to look for gender they may not spend much time checking and double checking but is definitely worth asking!!

Good luck, let us know how you go!

We found out at 12 weeks with ds, sonographer said she had never seen a pen1s so obvious lol.

We found out at 15 weeks that dd was a girl. Sonographer said she was 90% sure. Definitely was no junk there and a clear 3 lines!

Hopefully bub is in a good position so you are able to see what's there

I asked the sonographer at 12 weeks but she said they don't confirm the gender that early and that it's best to wait until the 20 week scan. I wonder if this means she couldn't see anything so it's a girl? Waiting is so hard !

I'm having a special 3d scan to find out the sex at 15 weeks. The website said from 14 but I thought if wait that extra week so hopefully it's certain.

I did the same with DS at 15 weeks and then it was confirmed boy at the morph scan at 20 weeks too.

I had a scan at 13+4 with this pregnancy through a gender scan place. We were told at the start they probably wouldn't be able to give us an idea of the gender which was fine. But at the end something caught the guys eye and after more scanning he said he is certain its a boy. It looked like a boy to us and all my friends who have had boys said the same thing even before I told them what the guy had said. Unfortunately at our 20 week scan it turned out we are actually having a girl. Thank god we had waited until the later scan to confirm it before we had bought anything.

Having said that I have a few friends who have been told at 12 weeks they are having a certain gender and its been spot on.

We were told at our 12 week scan then later confirmed at the 19 week one. So if bub is in a good position they should be able to tell you at 14 weeks

12 to 13 weeks is the best time for a nub gender shot (the nub can look like a protruding penis at this time, especially in 3D shots, but if it is pointing down, it indicates girl). 15 weeks is good for a 'potty shot'- ie: 3 lines indicating girl. 14 plus 3 is a few days earlier, so might not be as reliable, but worth a try. Good luck.

We had a 3D gender scan at 15w1d and she said "80% boy" then before we left, she checked again and said she was "very certain" it was a boy.

At our 20w scan, bub wouldn't open his legs for a whole hour and the lady said "girl" so she called in her boss and after some prodding, the boss confirmed it was a boy.
