I really don't think ACA would touch the story either... Although it is deplorable that they would be so dishonest - I have had similar done to me when I was 18... I know several people who have had similar done as well. Unfortunately it is not uncommon, without any paper trail it's just he said she said. Not much of a story.
I also think a lawyer would be a waste of money for the above reason.
I would put this down to a hard lesson learnt which I did over a decade ago. Trust me I go over contracts with a fine toothed comb now.
I would just take it as high as you can within the company and hope if you make as much noise as possible they may appease you...

Glad you have a paper trail, that will help. I just had an issue with unclear things in my contact and had the union assisting as I had verbal agreements with my boss that were not in writing. The union went into bat for me and used all my emails as evidence - my work agreed with me in the end. Good luck
From memory when i did business law at uni a verbal agreement still can form part of the contract. Getting the group together and ANY supporting evidence you have is the best option
