    Default Online shopping

Just putting it out there that if you're shopping online, check your statements for small amounts of money being taken. My Mum had some taken from her credit card and I've just had an alert from my bank about small amounts being taken from mine too.

    Safe shopping!

This happened to me once. It was something to do with Facebook, even though I had never purchased anything on FB or put my credit card details in there! Luckily my bank picked it up at the same time Facebook did and I had to prove my identity before they'd let me back into FB

Yes, we had US$1 taken out, then when that went through, a few days later the card got hit with a bunch of huge purchases overseas. Our card was then overdrawn and we had to wait ages for it all to be fixed.

It often doesn't matter whether you are shopping online or not. The fraudsters just run number and expiry dates until they find one that works.

this has happened to me. we do all our banking online. my bank locks our accounts straight away and sends a txt msg to contact the bank. Never had any amount taken because the bank cotacts me first if it is through an unknown device.the bank
was able to tell me what was beig purchased, the amount, and whereabouts. They then block the spam or whatever it was.
