Default If you won the lottery, would you tell people?

And if not, how would you hide/explain it?

I pretty much spend my entire life dreaming about what I would do if I won the lottery, and I always get stuck trying to decide who I would tell, and what story I would use to explain why I suddenly moved somewhere nice.

    What would you do?

I wouldn't tell anybody. and I wouldn't even explain why I have moved somewhere nice. lol I'd just say if anyone asked ''I worked hard for it''... (yep - worked hard as in buying the ticket and picking the numbers. ) haha.

Nope. I'd tell MIL maybe. Otherwise I doubt we'd change our lives a lot.

My family have no money, and I'm a sucker for a sob story, I love them but I know they'd constantly ask for loans. So instead I'd anonymously gift them 100k or so. I'd pretend I got gifted too, so they don't get suspicious

    Oh, to dream....

I'd tell some family, but if it was a lot of money I would probably down play the amount, I would give them all some & say that's it because the rest is going off the mortgage

I would tell immediate family only. MIL likes to talk though, so perhaps wouldn't tell her. I would love to gift some money, buy another house and put the majority into savings.

If we're talking a big win, we wouldn't divulge the full amount. We have a few people in mind we'd help out with things they need too.

For a big win, I'd tell the people that we would give money to but would only tell our parents exactly how much.

I wouldn't want to but I think people would notice and be asking questions in regards to how I just purchased a house and new car. So I would probably downplay it all and make out I only just won enough to set myself up modestly.
