    Default Another Newbie

Hi!! I'm new to Bubhub, but am loving the site so far! I did post on "partners who work away from home" but I think that section might not get much use?

I am mid 30's, married for 13 and in the last 2 years my hubby decided to take on a new job where he is away 3wks and home 3wks. When he's away he's quite often totally out of phone/internet service for 2+ of the 3weeks, they have satellite so we do get to send basic emails every few days... yay!

I have a 10yr old girl and an 8yr old boy who I totally adore, but at the same time drive me nuts ;-)

Its exciting to read about all these lovely ladies who are experiencing their first pregnancy or early days of following pregnancies. It seems like such a long time ago that I was feeling that way, but I remember and loved every minute of my pregnancies, its an amazing thing we can do!

i'll stop rambling... can you guess my dh is away?? hehehe

    Welcome!

My husband works away also and is doing a 3/3 roster at the moment. It's hard when they are out of phone range.

    :-) Thanks Dancing chipmunk!!!

Summastarlet, the 3/3 I haven't generally found too bad but this year we've had lots of things go wrong, and they've ALL gone wrong while hubbies been away!!! My daughter fell of her horse and had to have 2 emergency surgeries in 2 days due to a badly broken arm, then every single trip bar one back to the specialist (4hours drive from us) has fallen while he's been away too... I sometimes feel like locking myself in a room and sitting in a corner rocking LOL

But on the upside when he's home, he's home which is mostly great... once I'm used to him being in my space that is ;-)

Your little ones are very little, has your DH been working away long term??

Oh gosh that's awful! Stuff always seems to happen when they are away!!! Hope your daughter has recovered. I can totally relate to the locking yourself in a room! Haha.

He's been doing FIFO work for about 5 years now I think, so well before we had kids.

:-) thanks, yes she's recovered nicely! Last surgery was a couple of weeks ago now and we've been given 6months before she has to go back... yay! It'll be a long while before I let her on a horse again tho

we've been at the FIFO thing for just under 2 years now... we've been married for 13, it sure takes some adjustment!!

Oh gosh I can imagine!!! Must have given you such a scare.

Yup it's definitely a big adjustment but we love the life style and having hubby home for 3 weeks at a time is great for spending lots of family time together while our kids are still young and not at school.
