Default Can I make trifle in advance?

We are having friends over Sunday for lunch and I have decided to make a trifle for dessert.

I have never made trifle before and was wondering if it can be made the day/night before. The recipe I am making uses fresh berries and I wondered if they would go soggy and yucky if they were left to sit against the custard for too long. Would the colour from the berries leak onto the fresh cream on the top?

I make the morning of the day in using it. Never the day before but i don't see why it would be an issue I also use the pauls double thick custard as its alot thicker then regular custard if that helps any.

I make mine the day before if I can. But I put the fresh berries on top the day of eating.

Make are the components before hand.
Set your jelly (add your sponge just before it has fully set)
Make your custard (or anglaise), keep seperate
    Whip your cream, set aside

Put it together on the day.
Last ling to put on is the berries, just before serving.
Yes the juice from the berries with leak into your cream!
